INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS IN 2022

01.04.2022

Recent world events have shaped the forecast for interiors, with more time spent at home
than ever before. Our houses have never been more important with an emphasis on creating spaces that shy away from quick trend turnover and focus on developing liveable and multifunctional areas.

Natural tones and organic textures remain on-trend for 2022. The use of raw materials in light woods, granite and marble, clay, linen and natural fibres such as wool and rattan have featured in 2021 and show no sign of slowing down as we look to simplify our environment and make more sustainable choices.

Furniture trends include those natural elements with nostalgia taking us back to rounded corners, globe shapes in lighting, the return of the swivel chair in boucle and terrazzo.

Warm colours are forecast for the 2022 outlook with sage green, warmer whites into beige
and browns, deep blues and vibrant oranges.

Exploring textures on walls and flooring, with limewash and plaster techniques, textured
wallpaper, herringbone or chevron patterns, will be seen more in 2022.

Overall we are seeing a change in behaviour towards our living environments favouring
nurturing, calm and comfortable spaces, and that is one trend set to continue.
